Did you or someone you know register a lasting power of attorney between 1st April 2013 and 31st March 2017. If you did, you may be entitled to a part refund of the registration fee. The Government announced recently that a refund scheme has been launched. This is because the cost of running the Office of Public Guardian has reduced as more and more people have applied to register LPAs. However, the registration fees were not reduced to take this into account until April 2017. The refund scheme also applies to fees payable for registrations of enduring powers of attorney during this period.
